What We Do:  We have a full staff of design engineers to offer a high level of engineering capability.  Our philosophy is to offer custom top tooling (jaws, locators etc...) designed to work with an “out of the box” production manufactured chuck.  Our engineers perform a full project review with the customer to get an in depth understanding of their application.  After the review the engineer is able to provide a concept drawing to discuss with the customer.  Once the final concept is agreed on by the customer detail designs are completed and production begun.

Engineering:  Our engineers have a full range of software to utilize including AutoCad 2006, Inventor 10, Ansys and Visual Basic.  From calculating part deformation to drafting we have the latest technology to help ensure a successful and productive solution. By combining experience and the right tools we can offer a complete turnkey solution for the most demanding applications.  For a short 3D animation example of a PU chuck click here.      For a short 3D animation example of a PW chuck click here.

Analysis:  During the project review phase we take the opportunity to look into many factors involved in selecting the correct product for a given application.  We look at proposed cutting conditions, speeds, feeds and depth of cut.  Along with cutting conditions we look at the material being cut to determine the amount of cutting resistance we need to over come.  In addition we can run deformation simulations to understand how the part will react under the proposed conditions.  During analysis we will also take into consideration the process and the machine being used.  Many times we can recommend a variation in the process to improve, output, accuracy or deformation.

Design and Build:   After the completion of the application review and concept stage of the project we move into design and build.  Again we draw on experience and the right software tools to produce the production ready and assembly prints.  After the designs are completed they go through a peer review process to uncover any omissions or improvements.  Once approved from peer review the project is ready to move into production and testing.  We utilize our in house manufacturing capability, along with a select list of outside sources, to manufacture the custom components involved in the project.  Upon manufacturing completion the project is assembled and tested for accuracy and functionality.  Our inspection utilizes a full set of gages, micrometers, and granite table to ensure parts are manufactured to print.  Only after passing full inspection does the workholding system move on to testing.  For testing we mount the workholding to a spindle to check for run out, repeatability, parallelism and any other feature pertinent to the application.  All of this inspection and testing is done to help ensure the workholding will perform as promised. Contact us.
